Split bill calculator for uneven shares
Splitting evenly is fair when everyone ate and drank about the same. When one had a salad and another a steak, it is not. This calculator splits a bill the fair way: everyone pays for what they took themselves, and only the rest is shared.

| Person | To pay | Own items | Shared | Tip |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anna | 34.10 | 19.00 | 12.00 | 3.10 |
| Boris | 26.84 | 12.40 | 12.00 | 2.44 |
| Me | 35.20 | 20.00 | 12.00 | 3.20 |
Shared by everyone: 36.00. Tip: 8.74. To pay in all: 96.14.
It opens with an example: a bill of 87.40 for three. Write the amount of your bill, then for every person the sum of the dishes that were theirs alone. Whatever nobody claims — bread, a bottle for the table — is shared evenly by itself.
How it counts
- The own items are taken off the bill. What is left is the shared part.
- The shared part is divided evenly among everyone at the table. Cents that do not divide are handed out one at a time.
- A tip or a service charge is a percentage of the bill. It is spread in proportion to what each person pays before it: who ate for more, tips more.
The parts always add up to the bill with the tip, to the cent. Other fair ways to split — by shares, or only among those who took part — are in the guide on how to split a bill unevenly.
What it does not do
- It keeps nothing. What you type stays in this page and is gone when you close it. Nothing is sent to a server.
- It splits one bill. When several people paid for several things, the question is a different one: who owes who.
- It does not know the dishes. It takes one sum per person; adding up a person's lines of the bill is up to you.
When there is more than one bill
On a trip there is a bill every day, paid by different people. SplitKit keeps them all in a Telegram group: an expense can be split equally, by exact amounts or by shares, and the group screen shows who pays whom in the end.

Up to 3 groups of your own are free. Open SplitKit in Telegram.
